The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation requires 500 hours of course instruction to become a Licensed Massage Therapist. At American Academy, we not only meet the required hours, but offer you an additional 60 hours at no additional charge to you should you choose to further enhance your training. However, these bonus hours are not required for completion and graduation from American Academy. Please note these hours are not available as a part of your program once you graduate, however can be obtained through the Master Massage Program at American Academy.

The following classes and hours have been prescribed and required by TDLR. Individuals that have completed the required minimum 500-hour supervised course of instruction, including the 50-hour internship, are eligible for examination and licensure.
